THE EFFECTS OF YOUR WORDS.

PROVERBS 18:21

DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

We are standing at the threshold of the year 2023. Getting ready for a new beginnings and looking forward for a bright and happier future.

The New year is like a blank book. Imagine that there is a pen in your hands. So it's time to write a beautiful story for yourself, your family and the Nation at large.

The Psalmist said that, "...My tongue is the pen of a ready writer" (Ps. 45:1).

So it's up to you to either write a beautiful or an ugly story of your life in 2023, with your tongue or the words of your mouth.

You can actually shape your destiny with the words of your mouth! 

We live in times of uncertainty due to the recent happenings around the world - ranging from economic decline to terrorism, kidnapping etc.

Fear seems to be the dominant factor in our national life today, especially now that the electioneering season is here with us. And it is apparent that the Saints are not also left out from the grip of this monster.

Fear is faith in reverse, and it is mostly expressed through words. Jesus said, "...For the mouth speaks from what fills the heart (Matt. 12:34 NET).

In other words, what you say is an expression of what's in your heart, which  could be either faith or fear.

Your words is either your faith or your fear speaking!

What a person says with his mouth can negate or nullify the effect of his prayers, if what he says is negative.

We've got to stop praying one thing, and saying another. It's about time we stop charging the atmosphere of our nation with words of doubt, unbelief, fear and death.

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof" (Prov. 18:21).

YOU CAN ACTUALLY SHAPE YOUR DESTINY WITH THE WORDS OF YOUR MOUTH!

"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall SAY unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH (Mk. 11:23).

Your words determines your destiny. What you keep on saying is what you will have invariably.

Today, negative and malicious information are being peddled on all fronts especially through the social media about the state of the nation, and what is being said indicates there is trouble looming on the horizon.

Unfortunately, some Christians seems to derive pleasure in disseminating such kind of negative information.

Now, faith recognises negative facts, but it doesn't establish it.

At creation, the Bible said, "...the earth was without form, and void: and darkness was upon the face of the deep..." (Gen. 1:2).

God recognized the negative facts, but He didn't establish them by saying things like: "Oh, the darkness out there is so terrible! This is a hopeless situation. What are we going to do now?"

On the contrary, our Father God responded positively by speaking His ultimate desire to counter or change the negative facts. He said, "Let there be light..."  (Gen. 1:3).

And Our Lord Jesus Christ said we can also do the same if we have "The God-Kind of faith" (Mk. 11:22,23).

The God-Kind of faith is the faith that speaks; it finds expression through speaking: "...I believed, and therefore have I spoken..." (2 Cor. 4:13).

You can speak to your mountains or some  seemingly insurmountable situations in your life to leave and they will oblige.

There are two things that we could do with God's Word. We can speak or say the Word (Mk. 11:23), and we could also pray the Word. And in praying the Word, we ought to only pray our "desire" according to God's Word, and not otherwise.

For instance, if our desire is peace and stability, then we could go on to constantly speak, and pray for peace and stability in our nation.

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye DESIRE, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mk. 11:24).

The destiny of this nation lies in the hand of the Church. Our prayers, and words must tally together.

Jesus said, "...The words that I speak...are spirit...and life" (Jn. 6:63).

It's about time we start speaking the words of life, victory, peace and stability  over the atmosphere of our nation to change her destiny for good!
