THE WORD WORKS!

1 Thessalonians 2:13

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, THE WORD OF GOD, WHICH EFFECTUALLY WORKETH ALSO IN YOU THAT BELIEVE.

The Word of God is not ordinary like the words of men. Jesus said, "... the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (Jn. 6:63).

God's Word is an unfailing remedy to all life's problems. It hasn't, and it will never loose its efficacy, but it works only in them that believes, and not in them that believe not.

God works in line with His Word, He can't do anything for you apart from it. His Word, either written or spoken is the channel through which His power is conveyed into your life to heal, deliver and bless you. "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions" (Ps. 107:20).

The best way to help people is to give them them the Word, and the Word will do what God says it will do in their lives! "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it" (Isa. 55:11).

God has already furnished us with everything we would ever need in this life till we go into eternity, but all these blessings are embedded in His Word.

There's a mass drift from the Word in the recent times. This generation's attitude towards life is in the fast lane, so to speak. We are too much in a hurry to get everything, thus the Word has been left behind. Besides, it doesn't fit into our schedule anymore. Folks run after the spectacular - the manifestations of the Holy Ghost to meet some specific needs in their life, and missed the Supernatural that's in the Word.

Thank God for the manifestations of the Holy Spirit to heal, deliver and bless, and of course we are suppose to get into the flow when the Spirit gets moving, and partake of the glorious blessings of God. But the manifestations of the Holy Ghost happens only as the Spirit wills, we have no control over that (1Cor. 12:11).

The fact that the Spirit manifested Himself in a certain way in a previous meeting is not a guarantee that that He will manifest Himself in a similar way in every other meeting.

Now, we are suppose to create an environment for the Holy Spirit to move or manifest Himself in our midst through heart-felt prayers, worship and praise, but that is as far as we can go. It's up to the Holy Ghost to either manifest Himself or not, it's not up to you!

Lack of knowledge along this area has plunged some folks into the ditch of confusion and frustration. In a bid to make the Holy Ghost manifest Himself at their will, they eventually wound up operating in the flesh, and worst yet, some have opted into witchcraft and occultism!

Thank God for the manifestations of the Holy Spirit, but let's stay with the Word while we let the Holy Spirit manifest Himself as He wills. In that way, we will not fall into the ditch.

GOD IS LOOKING FOR  PEOPLE WHO WILL BELIEVE HIM AND STEP OUT OVER THE ACHING VOID OF NOTHINGNESS, WITH NOTHING UNDER THEIR FEET BUT HIS WORD ONLY.

As much as we desire the spectacular, the Word should not be relegated to a second place. The Word is Supernatural, and it works twenty-four hours everyday and seven days every week!

There is a guarantee that you can always have results with the Word provided your switch of faith is always on, in season and out of season.

God and His Word are one, they are inseparable (Jn. 1:1). His Word cannot fail because He cannot fail. If you are a believer of the Word, you can't go under for going over, and you can't go down for going up. When everyone and everything is down in defeat and frustration, you will be up shouting the victory!

Many people hear the Word, but they didn't mix it with faith (Heb. 4: 1,2), so the Word couldn't work in theirs lives. The power and the blessings of God are waiting to be activated in your life by faith - your own faith!

A major hindrance that the devil has used down through the ages, and he is still using today to rob many people of the blessings of God's Word is the familiarity syndrome. Some folks are too familiar with their Bible to a point that that they don't even believe it anymore. To them, the Bible is more like a religious book, containing the history of some ancient people who lived in the dark ages.

 

Familiarity breeds contempt, and the end result is unbelieve. Be careful, not to be too familiar with a preacher or your Pastor otherwise you will miss out. The flow of God's blessings into your life through His Word will be cut off!

The people of Nazareth, Jesus' home town, exhibited the familiarity syndrome, and the flow of God's power was cut off from reaching them. The Bible says, "... He could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folks, and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief... " (Mk. 6: 1-6).

The account of the Centurion - an army officer who came to see Jesus for the healing of his servant as recorded in Matthew chapter 8, verse 5 through 13 was quite distinct. "And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The Centurion answered and said, Lord... Speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed" (Matt. 8:7,8).

The Centurion's faith was based on the Word only. God is looking for people who will believe Him and step out over the aching void of nothingness, with nothing under their feet but His word only.

If you need faith in your life, then get into the Word, the Word produces faith. Once the Word is in you, faith will be there automatically. "... Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Rom. 10:17).

The Word still works today, but it works only in them that believe. So dare to believe the Word, and watch it work in your life!
