STAND, AND KEEP ON STANDING.

Image
Ephesians 6:13,14 13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to WITHSTAND in the evil day, and having done all, to STAND. 14. STAND therefore... The courage to stand firmly on the promises of God without wavering till your answer comes is the real test of faith. The devil isn't moved about how much religion you profess, so long this vital spiritual ingredient is missing in your life. Thank God for the place of prayer in a Christian's life, but at times, there could be a little delay to your answer or expectation from God. What are you going to do in a moment like this? It is in times like these that many Christians make a shipwreck of their faith. They throw in the towel, so to speak, and then blame everyone including God for their predicaments. Worst still, those who are already discouraged, disenchanted and in despair, resorts to witch doctors or occultic men for help, and they try to manipulate or bend the scriptures to justify their actions by ...

THE SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL.

Image
1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, IT PLEASED GOD BY THE FOOLISHNESS OF PREACHING TO SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE. The gospel is good news, and the good news is simply that Jesus died for our sins and is now alive.  Satan has been defeated and the victory has already been won!  God intentionally designed the gospel to be simple so that it appealed to the common man. And it is being conveyed through "the foolishness of preaching". This is God's method; This is God's way. The redemptive work of Christ on the cross was all-sufficient and all-inclusive, and requires no addition from man. Don't stumble over the simplicity of the gospel by trying to add something to what God has already done in Christ. The gospel is so simple that one could easily stumble over the very simplicity of it. People have always stumbled over the simplicity of the gospel. For instance, some folks will tell you that your deliverance is not complet...

BE STRONG IN THE LORD.

Image
Ephesians 6:10,11 10.  "Finally, my brethren, BE STRONG IN THE LORD, and in the power of his might.  11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Understand that the phrase: "Be strong in the Lord," is neither a suggestion nor an advice, but a standing order from the Lord Jesus Christ to His Church. And you are the Church if you are a believer in Christ Jesus. Now, you don't have to flex your muscles in the natural, nor put on a religious show to prove that you are strong. It's not about being strong in yourself, but it's about being strong in God's Word to a point where nothing, and no one could dissuade you from the firm conviction that you have in God's Word. You don't entertain any dialogue with the devil. Your motto is "...Let God be true, but every man a liar..." (Rom. 3:4). God's Word is the final authority in your life. In that way, you cannot be easily swayed, neither by ma...

GROWING STRONG IN FAITH.

Image
Romans 4:19,20 19. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body... 20.   He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was srong in faith, giving Glory to God. The Bible says that Abraham was  "strong in faith." He "gave Glory to God" in the midst of a prevailing negative situation when there was no reason for him to do so. It was at a time when all hope was lost, and there seems to be no end in sight to the prolong state of barrenness that himself and Sarah were engulfed in. Abraham grew strong in faith because he is highly developed in the art of "giving God Glory" or praising Him in the amidst of life's toughest challenges. It was a habit that he developed overtime. He was "...fully persuaded that, what he (God) had promised, he was able also to perform" (Rom. 4:21). Strong faith isn't built overnight, strong faith is developed overtime. It takes time to come to a place where you become fully est...

WORLD OVERCOMING FAITH.

Image
"...Everyone Who is born from God has overcome the world. OUR FAITH IS THE VICTORY THAT OVERCOMES THE WORLD." (1 JOHN 5:4 ISV). "... Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, WILL HE FIND FAITH on earth?" (LUKE 18:8). Everyone who is born of God or born again, has within them an inborn potentiality to be an overcomer in life. We are not trying to be overcomers; we are overcomers! That's who we are, we are born that way. At the new birth, God "...dealt (or apportioned) to every man the measure of faith" (Rom. 12:3). It is up to the individual to develop their own faith to a level where they can become world overcomers for God!                 TWO KINDS OF FAITH.  Short Term Faith And Long Term Faith The short term faith is an intimidated faith. It believes God for the time being, provided situations are favourable, but the next minute it comes crashing down the moment the heat is on! Jesus said, "Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, ...

HOLD FAST TO THE CONFESSION OF YOUR FAITH.

Image
"Let us hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) ( Hebrews 10:23) The word profession in this verse of scripture also means confession. We are told to hold fast or hold firmly, the confession of our faith in God our Heavenly Father without wavering or without being swayed unsteadily to and fro by the winds of adversity. To confess means "to say the same thing," or "to admit." Confessing God's Word is admitting that God's Word is true regardless of contradictory circumstances. Confessing God's Word on a regular basis is not an alternative, but an ultimatum if you must continue in faith. "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but that shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success" (Joshua 1:8). We are to meditate, mutter or s...

LIVING SENSIBLY.

Image
Luke 10: 38-42. 38. Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. 40. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42. But one thing is needful; and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.  Mordern life has introduced incredible busyness. A Christian could be so engrossed in the everyday busyness of life to the detriment of their spiritual lives! In Luke chapter 10 Jesus visited the home of Martha. Martha was so attuned to all the things that has to be done that she failed to be sensible or pay attention to one thing that is needful. Howev...
