GROWING STRONG IN FAITH.

Romans 4:19,20
19. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body...
20. He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was srong in faith, giving Glory to God.

The Bible says that Abraham was "strong in faith." He "gave Glory to God" in the midst of a prevailing negative situation when there was no reason for him to do so. It was at a time when all hope was lost, and there seems to be no end in sight to the prolong state of barrenness that himself and Sarah were engulfed in.

Abraham grew strong in faith because he is highly developed in the art of "giving God Glory" or praising Him in the amidst of life's toughest challenges. It was a habit that he developed overtime. He was "...fully persuaded that, what he (God) had promised, he was able also to perform" (Rom. 4:21).

Strong faith isn't built overnight, strong faith is developed overtime. It takes time to come to a place where you become fully established in faith. This happens as you learn to constantly mutter - meditate, or speak the Word to yourself.

You start out by planting the seed of God's Word into your Spirit, followed by the watering of the seed, and then comes harvest time - the the manifestation of God's promise to you, as you continually "give Him Glory."

You don't have to pray that God would give you faith, the Word says that "...God hath dealt (allotted or apportioned) to every man the measure of faith" (Rom. 12:3).

Every believer in Christ already has faith by virtue of the New Birth; it's an inborn potentiality. The onus now lies on the believer to develop their own faith.

Believers who fail to develop their faith will be at a great disadvantage when they need faith. They will naturally cave in, or go under when the going gets tough.

Faith is a missing spiritual ingredient in many Christians'prayer life today. Crying or wailing all day, and all night without faith is nothing but a mere mechanical drudgery. "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Heb. 11:6).

STRONG FAITH IS EXPRESSED WHEN YOU GIVE GLORY TO GOD OR PRAISE HIM AMIDST CONTRADICTORY CIRCUMSTANCES.

God responds to faith; Faith moves God, and makes the power of the Omnipotent bare in your situation.

Faith takes God at His Word. Strong faith is expressed when you "give God Glory" or praise Him amidst contradictory circumstances. "Then believe they his words; they sang his praise" (Ps. 106:12).

The reason why we have too many spiritual casualties in the recent times is because a lot of Christians waited until it was too late before realizing the need to develop their own faith, and thus were overtaken by the evil one - the devil ate them for lunch!
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
WHOM RESIST STEADFAST IN THE FAITH... (1 Pet. 5:8,9).

Overdependence on some "Prophet" or a glorified Sorcerer who claims to have a magic wand with which he could proffer solution to every problem have paralyzed some Christians' ability to develop their own faith in God.

This attitude has reduced many well meaning and sincere Christians to mere weaklings or "Spiritual Patients" so to speak. They always stand by in every religious occasion, and constantly needing help and attention from "An Expert In Spiritual Diagnosis."

Abraham's dependence was on God's Word alone. He was not "weak in faith" because he "considered not his own body." In other words, he didn't pay attention to his wavering emotions. His focus was on God's Word.

He "gave Glory to God" even when it appears like hope has quietly left through the back door. Notice, he neither complained about the problem nor did he pass the buck. But instead, he simply "GAVE GLORY TO GOD!" ๐Ÿ›ก๐Ÿ›ก๐Ÿ›ก
