1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, THE WORD OF GOD, WHICH EFFECTUALLY WORKETH ALSO IN YOU THAT BELIEVE. God's Word is an unfailing remedy to all life's problems. It hasn't, and it will never loose its efficacy, but it works only in them that believes, and not in them that believe not. God works in line with His Word, He can't do anything for you apart from it. His Word, either written or spoken is the channel through which His power is conveyed into your life to heal, deliver and bless you. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..." (Rom. 1:16). Several years ago, the Lord spoke to me, and He said: "The gospel is the hope of man".  This means that man is hopeless, and helpless, and at the mercy of the devil without the gospel. It also indicates that man will spend an eternity of anguish and sorrow in hell without the gospel! From the Greek translation of the new testament, the gospel means goodness. The goodnews of Satan's absolute defeat! The one who held mankind under his captivity since Adam. Secondly, it's a goodnews of God's redeeming love, grace, mercy and forgiveness extented to mankind at Christ's expence. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom.5:8).
